Hi!

So I started thinking about buying the MacBook Pro 13 inch 2018 and I can't decide if it's worth it or not. I want a laptop that will last me at least 4 years of school (mainly text writing, light gaming and light designing) and I want it to still be fast after 3 years. So I was thinking of waiting for the new low-cost 13 inch laptop but it seems that it will still be well above the 1000 euro mark.

Do you guys think I should buy the TB model or do you think I have to wait for the new MacBook?

Wait for this fall, signs are pointing to a new low price MacBook Air replacement

I don't think you're going to see very good performance out of a MacBook, its a ultralow powered laptop without fans, so performance now never mind in a few years isn't going to be great. You also mentioned games and while gaming on the Mac has always been suspect, the MacBook is probably the worst model to consider for light gaming

You could also be looking for any bargains on the 2017 rMBP
While I'm rolling the dice with the 3rd gen keyboard, I don't think its worth taking a chance on the 2017 since its known to have a keyboard defect. That's just my personal opinion and while there is a repair program, it doesn't help if you have to keep sending it in

Get the refurbished nTB 2017 MacBook Pro. Well worth the money. I got the 256GB for £939, looks like brand new, only done 30 battery cycles and it still has 9 months of Apple warranty left

Nice buy, sorry I skim-read your post and thought you had got a refurbished one for that price.
Enjoy it.

The Apple’s Certified Refurbished goes for £1200 or something, that was still too dear for me. But like I said the one I received was almost like brand new, couple of tiny nicks on the edges that’s all. I am very happy with it
