So I have a few choices on how to purchase my iPhone 5.

1. Preordered from Apple with an Oct 5th Delivery date. But it's being sent to my Mom's house in IL to save 44 bucks in taxes (probably more like $38 after she ships it to me) but I'll have to wait another 3-5 days for it to get to me... probably around Oct 10th. Phone will be $211 after tax.

2. Reserved from Best Buy. Most likely will get it before Oct. 5th but will have to pay California's ridiculous Unsubsidized tax fee on subsidized phones for $255 after tax. BUT I can utilize BB's 6 month no interest financing/45 day return policy for RZ Silver members/ RZ points.

What would all of you do? Be thrifty (cheapskate) or impatient?

Also I can't seem to find a confirmed answer. When using the 30-Pin to Lightning adapter can I or can't I control my iPhone via my clock radio's controls?

There is an alarm clock feature I use and of course the Play/FF/REW buttons on the clock and it's remote. (I'm not sure exactly what "iPod Out" refers to.)
