I read that I should periodically delete my cache(s), but can't delete the following files. I get 'The operation cannot be completed because the item "com.appleInlDataCache.sbdl.501 is in use." Also happens with com.apple.FCacheLocalDomain & com.apple.FCacheUserDomain. I'm on a PowerBook G4 using 10.2.8 -- I read there is a way to delete these recalcitrant files, but don't remember how?*@#%*

Try typing in the terminal "sudo rm -rf com.appleInlDataCache.sbdl.501"

Just leave out the quotations and do that for the other things you want to delete.

Thanks, BUT...I went to the Terminal and typed as you suggested "sudo rm -rf (file name)" and still see the file in my Library/Caches folder. Did I miss something here. I'm not familiar with Terminal. I just press enter once I type what you suggested; correct?

yes.

oops, sorry... ready your post wrong.

If those are the only things you can't delete then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sometimes if you restart your computer then try to delete them it will work. Good luck.
