Hey everyone I can't for the life of me figure out, since updating the watch OS my Series 4 won't let me delete emails anymore. Whenever receiving an email it only gives me the option to "dismiss". It let me delete them prior to upgrading the OS on the watch to include the ECG functionality. I looked everywhere but can't find the setting to change it back....any help would be appreciated.....

You can swipe left from the email list to archive it, or if you are reading the email itself, you can force touch and choose from Reply, Flag, Unread, or Archive.

I may have confused some, I am not talking about when using the built in applewatch "mail app" i'm talking about when you first receive it, when it taps you on the wrist, I raise my wrist to see I have an email, it used to give me the option to delete it, but now it just gives me the "dismiss" option.......

When you get the alert and tap on it, can’t you then scroll all the way to the bottom of the email and delete from there?

Well I can’t get notifications for mail on mine. I use a third party mail app, but all the notifications settings are on on my iPhone and I have the watch set to mirror iPhone, so not sure why it isn’t working.

This is the only option I get when receiving the email on my notification for the Apple watch. I used to be able to delete it right from the notification when it pops up.

I can’t do it on my series 0 anymore either. It works when I unpair it and then repair it (got a new phone recently), but then it goes away randomly a short time after. Not sure what it is, but it sure is annoying.

I use Gmail and have the same thing. I just assumed that apple doesn't allow the delete function, and has it reserved for their Mail app (since this is how it works with lockscreen notifications with Mail vs Gmail). However if you can't delete from Mail on your watch that totally sucks.

I have two-step authentication on for lots of things and simply dismissing those notifications along with others is not efficient.

I just tested by sending email to myself @ yahoo and google.
Google gave me option to Archive which is delete.
But I don't get the notification every time.

Well archive is not delete. Even with the setting on the iPhone for Delete to Trash. I just dismiss it and delete later when I'm on the phone. THIS SUCKS

In case you’ve not solved this yet …

This drove me crazy for ages, especially as it was intermittent. It seems the problem occurs when the Mail app on the watch hasn’t downloaded all emails from the paired iPhone.

So, open the Mail app on the watch and wait a moment or two for it to gather all emails from the paired iPhone and, hey presto, any future watch Mail notifications should show the flag, delete, dismiss options ?.
