Can't delete mail draft

I did a search and found a couple of people with this same problem. I created one draft for a future e-mail to be sent. I used that draft and now it will not delete. I have deleted it, sent it, moved to trash, yet every time I start up mail, there it is. What is wrong with the mac mail program?
