Can't delete these files on my mac!

Ok, so I am using mac osx 10.5.8. I had a program that was working perfectly, but being an idiot i tried to update it. Why? - I dunno myself. Anyway, now I can't open the stupid program. When I try to delete it I get the message "sorry, the operation could not be complete because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code -61)." I made sure the program was "forced quit," but this made no difference at all. I tried to make the files "shares" files and not "locked" files in the "get info" tab, but it still doesn't allow me to delete them. Any idea of how I can get rid of this program now?
