Cant delete vmware shared folders icon from desktop

I have scoured the fourms looking for a solution but only found a few things that did not work please somebody help me delete this annoying desktop icon for vmware shared folders no matter how many times i delete it in restores every session when i log in it doesnt have a file association so i dont know what it is linked to because it is a broken shortcut there has to be a way to make this icon burn in hell thanks
