Can't download Apple TV+ shows on my iPhone XR

Maybe it's worth mentioning this problem because I don't seem to grasp why it won't download. is it a bug or just happens to me?

*Side note: I am not subscribed, i am trying to download the free episodes that are available for watching.

You answered your own question. Free episodes still require a subscription to download.
