OK, I have been trying to download Lion for a couple of days now, and it won't even start. I click install and it puts the icon in the doc and then sits there at "0kbs 0f 3.74GBs downloaded less than one minute remaining." After a few minutes I get "an error has occurred" and the icon disappears from the dock.

I have logged out, reset network preferences, deleted caches, deleted updates, tried in safe mode, tried with a different user.

Anyone have any ideas or run into the same problem?

What Mac computer do you have?
Are you on OS X 10.6.8?
Is the credit card on file still active?

2010 Mac Pro Quad with 8gigs of ram running 10.6.8

The credit card is still active. I can go to my purchased software in the App store and it shows lion there with the install button. I click on the install button and it puts the icon in my dock and then nothing for a few minute until little red text shows up next to the install button saying "An error occurred"

2Wire2701HG-D was the problem

So it was my modem that was the problem. Found a work around by using it in transparent bridge mode.
