I'm trying to download an image of Mojave from the App Store but when I click the link it tries to make me upgrade to Big Sur instead. It lets me download High Sierra though
Anyone have a work-around or idea how I can get a Mojave image?
thanks

Don't use Firefox, use Safari for your System Preferences> General> "Default web browser:", (temporary) until you get Mojave downloaded from the Mac App Store. Clicking the get Mojave link from the App Store does not work properly when the default browser is Firefox.

Well, I've just tried to use the link above in Opera (just out of curiosity. One thing though, Big Sur is already installed on this laptop, so the results might be not valid; and I might waste your reading time, so, sorry :).
And the results are: it started the download as an update in System Preferences, when finished, it tried to launch it and, obviously, failed; but the "Install macOS Mojave" app remained in the Applications folder. It's not a .dmg or .pkg, like Apple promises on their website, but some .dmg's can be found in app contents.
Looking at your screenshot, I suspect, that Mojave installer might be under "More info" where it says "Other updates are available", check there.

I have a simmilar issue. i can click on the Browser, the Appstore open and the mac os version is shown. After klick download the appstore means there is no version aviable.

is the app store Apple's only source for Mojave downloads? I'm want to install Mojave on an external SSD but I'm having trouble finding a Mojave installer that works on the app store

Try this link:
macOS Mojave 10.14

It should open the App Store at the Mojave download.

when I follow the link to the app store for Mojave, and then click on "ok" to download or run the installer (whichever it is) I get a message that says;

"This copy of the install macOS Mojave.app application is damaged and can't be used to install macOS"

An Apple help chat advisor didn't have any idea about what to do about the app store issue. Anybody have any helpful ideas?

The only official way (that I'm aware of).

Only the much older versions are provided via disk image (DMG): Sierra, El Capitan, and Yosemite
