iPod touch Can't download rented movie

My rented movie isn't downloading through syncing so I tried to drag and drop and was notified that I would lose all music and audio!! Why? I didn't challenge it even though thought it was nuts. How am I supposed to watch the movie, on my computer? This is on my 64 g 3rd gen touch. Thanks, Penny
 
When I go to iTunes on my Touch, I can find the movie but I have to pay to rent it again and it will download!! What's up? I have a feeling that if I pay again it would indeed download to my Touch. -----OK, I tried to rent again and it told me I HAD ALREADY rented the movie...still how do I watch it? Penny
