can't download

no matter what browser i use, safari, firefox, i can't download anything! whenever i click download it just takes me to a new site with nothing on it and the name of the download in the url

like for example

http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/calculate_convert/currencyconverter_palplesoftware.html

is where i will say download that widget

then it takes me here

http://www.palple.net/widgets/currencyconverter/CurrencyConverter152.zip

and no download starts or anything. its like my computer is going dumb. like it doesn't download it, just like opens the link with a blank page. why is it not downloading it.


this happens for ANYTHING from ANY site on ANY web browser.
...idk its weird

Have you taken a look at the Download windows of Safari (OPTION/ALT+CMD+L) and Firefox?

That's strange, as I got the empty tab/window too, but I saw the download in the Download window in Safari 5.

Have you reset your browsers yet, or even restarted Mac OS X and maybe repaired permissions via Disk Utility?

Have you tried any other browsers (Opera, Camino, Chrome)?

How do you connect to the internet?

What other websites with downloadable content have you tried?
