I've scanned the archives to see if this problem has been encountered before, it seems it has, but i've been unable to gleen a definitive answer from those previous posts.
Here is the problem I'm having. I'm running OS 10.2.8 (this problem seemed to happen most commonly in 10.2.4) on a G4 500mhz TiBook. For some unknown reason I can no longer drag and move files anywhere on my OSX partition. Copying and pasting works as it should. Dragging works fine in my OS9 partition. The solution appears to be limited for the most part to, reinstalling the OS. I am very hesitant to do this until I do a complete backup of all my files. Unfortunately I can't do this because I can't drag my hard drive and folders onto my firewire drive. This is incredibly frustrating.
I've tried switching my admin/user info around. I've restarted. I've repaired permissions. All to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to remedy this malicious inconvience?
All advice is greatly appreciated,
