Can’t drag stickers in iMessage

As the title says , I can’t drag a sticker up in iMessage I can only click on it and it goes into where I write a message.
This is only on my iPad Air 5. No problem on iPhone, both on iOS16.1
I have hard rebooted my device but no change.
Anyone else with this issue ?

I found the problem . It's when stage manager is on .

i have the same problem on my new iPad Pro, but it’s unchanged whether I have Stage Manager on or not.

Before I realised what was causing that problem I had done a reset of all settings . Maybe that will help ?

Yes that fixed the problem though, as you noted, drag doesn’t work with Stage Manager on.
