Can't Edit Notes in Built In Notes App

I'm having an odd experience with the iPhone's built in Notes App.
I have a fairly long note. When I try to edit it, specifically, delete text, when I press DONE, it won't save the edits but reverts back to the Note as it was before I edited it.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? (I've done the usual restart, restore stuff)

make sure you have note syncing OFF, then try again

When I do that, the note I am trying to edit isn't there any more.

Copy your note, then turn syncing notes off and paste the copied text in a new note. That was the only way I could fix the "vanishing" notes.

Thanks for the information. It works, but, Wow....Having to do that repeatedly for all of the notes that are 'missing' would be a pain in the neck... A known bug or a "feature"?
