Hey.

My Trash has some files with strange names, and I'm unable to empty it.

Please help me. I've tried Secure Empty, command line delete, Onyx. But none worked!

Thanks

So you enter the command I gave you and then type in your password (which won't be shown) and it returns that error?

Are you the administrator of the Mac?

Yes, I am. And I am logged in as the admin itself..

You say you've "tried everything"!

Have you logged out and back in again?

Yes, I have tried that.. Actually, these files were on my mobile phone, and I tried to delete these on my Mac. Now, these files sit in my Trash whenever I connect my phone to the Mac.

Ah! That could explain it - different OS and the Mac does not recognise them.

Where were they on your 'phone?

It always helps to give all info!

Question:
When you DISCONNECT the phone from the Mac, and then restart the Mac, are the files still in the trash?

If they are not, then there is no problem with "files you can't delete" on your Mac.

The _Mac's_ trash is empty.

You have to figure out how to delete the files on your PHONE.

It was in the phone's memory.

Actually, the files pop up in the Mac's trash only when the phone is connected. So, I'm considering that the files are in phone at a place created by the Mac.

Is there something I can do with those files? And I think it's something related to .Trashes folder?
