Can't Enter 'Documents' Folders in Finder

I figure worst case here I can just organize all my stuff by tags but before I start that long process let me know if I'm missing something.

When I click on my 'Documents' in finder I get a list of my folders but they all have tag colors next to them and I can't open them to get to the subfolders.

What View style are you using: Icon, List, Column? Is it the same problem in all of them?
Can you post a screenshot of a Finder window showing the folders?

Did you not apply the tags (labels as was) to the folders yourself?
