Hi. I have iPhoto 7.1.5 on OSX 10.6.1 and I'm having a problem with exporting images. What happens is the following:
1. I import a panoramic image made with PTGui
2. I crop this image
3. I notice that the cropped image's size, according to iPhoto, is very small. For example, a 8000x3000 pixel image might be around 200kb. However, when viewing the image in full-screen all of the detail is still there, so the image is definitely much bigger than 200kb.
4. I try exporting this cropped image to the desktop as a JPG at a smaller size than the original.
5. The exported image is at the correct size, but the whole image is black.

This seems to only happen to panoramas made from PTGui. When cropping images that came directly from my camera, the cropped image's size (as reported by iPhoto) is correct and exporting the image works fine.

Also, if I import one of these full-size PTGui panoramas, export is to a smaller size without editing it, then import that small panorama into iPhoto, everything works fine with it. If I crop the small panorama then its file size is reported correctly, and exporting it works fine too.

Any idea why the exporting isn't working, or why the image's file size is reported incorrectly by iPhoto?
