i installed bootcamp / win7 on my imac at home with discs that shipped with the computer.

however, my 17" macbook pro (late 2010) discs were lost by my IT guy. he ordered replacements, but there is no executable file anywhere on the new disc. apple support assures me the necessary files are on it.

the disc says 17inch MacBook Pro, Mac OSX Install DVD, but there are no bootcamp files on it anywhere i can find.

any tips?

Did you end up with the wrong version of the mac os x install disk? A different version of the operating system from what your machine is running?

no, its a snow leo disc for 17" mbpro. i spoke with applecare- they are shipping me a new replacement disc. hopefully the one i got was just missing files or something.

i have no idea why apple wouldnt make these files accessable via the support site- accept to ensure that people buy applecare...
