Click to expand... I'll have to do it when i next go to an Apple shop which won't be for months as i'm at uni. Oh well, I think you can exchange them until 2018.

New cable was sent directly to my postbox the same day.

Click to expand... The writing can appear anywhere on the cable, can be at the ends or can be in the middle. Just patiently look closely under a bright light. I had a defective cable (no serial number) and brought it into the Apple Store, they had me out in 5 minutes with a new cable. BJ
