Cant find movie files

Hi all

I am doing a diagnostic for a friend and she has used an AVI converter to convert movies from other formats to be able to use out of iTunes. Instead of loading back onto the external hard drive, they have loaded onto the Mac HD - the problem is she cant find them (all 700G of them!)

Any ideas on how to find them?

go into the avi converter and look and the destination or output
path?
