Cant find original install discs for macbook pro

Iam trying to do a clean install and clean the harddrive as Iam selling my macbook pro, but I cant find the original install discs, can I maybe use the install discs that just came with my new macbook pro and use them, and what do I have to do to format the drive and install it, or will I just have to get a new paid copy of mac os x?

The discs will only work on the same model number MBP.

Apple will sell you some new restore CD's for about $20-$30 if I remember correctly.
