I was searching for terminal in spotlight and it cant be found? Is there any other way to open up terminal if its not in my dock?
you should also be able to find it by running a spotlight search for "terminal".
Then you deleted your utilities folder. You're screwed. That's a crazy important folder.already did that, didnt work.and that folder isnt there either.im on tiger if that makes a difference

yeah having no utilities folder wouldn't be a good thing. Has it really vanished? You might want to confirm this...![]()
An archive and install should put everything back.
are you advocating reinstalling from his OS X disk or I am misunderstanding something here?
Archive and install doesn't delete files, it just repairs to OS, and moves the files to another folder.
Oh I see. I have never had the need to do that. How is that achieved?
It's fairly easy to A&I. I just did it for the first time a few weeks ago and everything went well. MAKE SURE the box is checked that is mentioned in this thread:

This is the box I'm talking about. It comes up when you choose to A&I. It's the option to "preserve users and network settings".

This is the 10.5.6 version so I am not sure if it'll work on Tiger. Though for some reason I bet it's still on your computer and you are just not looking hard enough.
