Can't format SD card

I got a free 1GB SD card with some Crucial RAM I bought recently, and the damn thing won't let me format it.

I've tried on a PowerBook and an XP machine, but it still says there's write protection on it. Usually I just plug a card into my card reader and can dow whatever needs to be done, but this one is playing up. Any ideas?

Nope. Tried it both ways and get the same result. Very strange.

Try plugging it into every device you can? So it's reading it, just not letting you do anything to it?
