cant get aim to work

im trying to download aim so i can export/import my old buddylist to my new SN but when i download it it only opens with vlc player. how can i get it to open with w.e it needs to open with? or, how can i import/export my buddy list with adium/ichat?

when you sign in with adium or ichat it should automatically connect to the aim service to obtain the most up-to-date version of your contacts list.

no thats not what i meant. i have my current SN that i just made today, and my older one. i need a way to export my buddy list from my old SN to my new one.
