I'm using the drive of my PowerBook, shared over the network, to give the MBA access to a CD/DVD drive. I put in the Windows XP install CD into the PB's drive, and successfully share it with the MBA. As you can see in the below screenshot, the install CD shows up on my desktop, and I can open it and browse around. However, Boot Camp still says it can't find the installer disk - this is also shown in the screenshot below.

What's going on?

Seriously? So I need to buy Apple's external drive thing for the MBA? Dammit.

Can I make a copy of the install CD and emulate it somehow to trick OSX into thinking it's got a external drive attached? Because I really really really don't want to spend money on a drive I'll only use once.
