2.28.2015: my brother mfc-3220C printer is not able to work with my macbook pro that is running on yosemite 10.10.2 OS! why is that? is it a choice made my apple not to support brother's printer drivers due to the macbook's HARDWARE, or is this a policy decision/politially correct decision? if the latter, why?
i want to use the older brother printer i own because i bought a canon PIXMA MX-452 (i understand now why its image garden software looks so cute, like the entire machine has no reliable combo business uses, but was designed for making cutsy little photo projets to send out at the holidays. yet, it is advertised and has as least the ports necessary to send and receive faxes, perform scans (you must use crutches), and print and copy.
i want to use my old brother (combo) printer because all i had was problems with this damned canon, whether I used wirelessly or wired. it has a mind of its own. this mentally deficient mind was imported with its flimsy, plastic parts that are so lightweight (? "green" ?) that you think if you touch them you will cause them to crack. its online manual will make your eyes cross because no way will you find the thing that you wish to do in its 'index' or its horribly designed 'pages.' (no paper manual or set up guide is in the canon product box).
i truly wonder how green will we allow our hardware to get before we stampede the corporate headquarters of the companies that sell it to us, throwing their mal-designed and non-functional "hardware" back at them. i.e., how much of this malarkey will we settle for when our buckles are already pulled in so tightly that we soon will look like auschwitz slaves? the inconvenient truth is that we should buy nothing at all that is made to break within at least two years.
why won't apple take a long, hard look at why it came to the decision (why is that?) NOT to allow brother's drivers to work with my macbook pro 15" non retina display? is this an issue with disjoined siamese twins (the brother printer and my mac) or is it to get us to purchase our peripherals at apple? i do not think that apple printers could be much different from that lousy waste of money that canon sells.
i think apple should provide a workaround, at least that, until it makes brother's download for this product work with my mac on yosemite as its OS.
anyone know of a good workaround or how to get drivers from anywhere on the web that are sure to put the two machines together in holy matrimony? PLEASE point me in the right direction if you know it!
grrrrrrrrr!
