cant get iphone to get itunes match to work

its been fine before but i then turned it off.

turned it on and it gets the cloud screen and gets 40% or so along progress bar but never gets farther.

tried leaving it. tried tapping the phone manically so it doesnt go to sleep. tried turning itunes match on and off. nothing works.

I think I saw a fix on here. Settings>>General>>Turn on iTunes.

weirdly it either fixed itself or the fix was to log out of my itunes account on my mac. id tried everything, and i thought i'd try that. pressing log out sent my mac cursor spinning wildly, and i went to bed, but in the morning my iphone had a full itunes match list
