I used to use NuevaSync to sync my Contacts and Calendar to Google. Unfortunately, they discontinued their free service back in November, so now I need to switch. (I've been living out of the country and didn't have wifi there, hence why I'm only switching now, in mid-January.)

I set up Google Sync as instructed on their mobile services site (here and here), but the contacts that I had stored on my iPod didn't show up when I log into the Google Contacts website.

When I go to the "Groups" view in the Contacts app, I see the following:
All Contacts >

**From My PC**
All from My PC >

**NuevaSync**
Contacts >
NuevaSync Global Address List >

**Google Sync**
Contacts >
Google Sync Global Address List >

My iTunes is configured to sync all contacts with Google Contacts, and doesn't allow me to select the option of syncing specific groups. The four contacts from my Google Contacs list were added to my iPod, but nothing from my iPod was sent to Google Contacts.

I started the free 5-day trial of NuevaSync and activated contact syncing (connected with my Google account). As it turned out, it was a one-way sync only, and erased all the contacts on my iPod, adding only the four I already had saved with Google. That scared the crap out of me, but I restored from a backup in iTunes and got them all back. After that, I went through and manually typed everything into Google so something like that couldn't happen again.

Even after all this, I still can't figure out how to set up automated 2-way syncing between the Contacts app on my iPod and my Google Contacts account. What am I missing? Anyone have insight? Thanks.
