I'm trying to set-up iTunes on our XP system to see if I can salvage my wife's Shuffle, but I keep getting an error saying, "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 Application."

It's the latest version of iTunes, and I have an XP SP2 system running. Anyone have any ideas what's up with that?

Thanks much.

have a look into a program called ipo access for windows, this allows the copying of music from ipod to pc, I use it when someone likes tunes on mine, just highlight the tracks you want and click copy.

The trial allows upto 50 songs to be copied

there are a few demo apps here too: http://ipod-shuffle-to-pc.qarchive.org/

few more listed here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071027215935AAvhGuX

also you can download older versions of iTunes here: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm

iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 Application - sounds like the file did not download from apple's site properly

I've got the music and everything else, I just need to see if we can get the iPod to ever boot up again. I think it's on its last legs, but I want to try one more option.

Also, this is a clean install of Windows, so I want to get a few of the apps on there that I use, no matter how infrequently. Thanks for the suggestions, though, re: those other programs.
