2012 mbp classic i was thinking it's the same when my iphone and ipad read 99% fully charged that the battery wants a complete cycle so i tried that.

let the machine go all the way to 5% then plugged the charger in over night and still at 99%

battery life has been amazing even though it's only 2 weeks old but any suggestions ? thanks

It is quite normal for the MBP to take longer to charge from 95% to 100%.

It is also not necessary to calibrate new MBPs, just use it on battery every once in a while.

It's nothing to worry about, there is a 3% error on the meter anyway, but you could try re-setting the SMC :
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

It might then show 100% after charging, but it's not an issue unless it really starts falling off the cliff...My MBA (2011) shows 94% on Coconut battery, but 100 on the built in meter...Probably about right given the age of my Air and the use it gets.
