I replaced my cellular AW 4 to a new 7. Didn't think to test making calls and now I realize if the phone isn't on, the watch won't make calls. I re-paired, re-paired as new and Apple sent me to T-M. Their help is saying to repair as new, and first tried "keep cellular plan" and didn't work, next had me set up as new cellular plan. No luck. Is this something on their end and I'm not getting to the right help?

Are you getting cell service on the watch at all or is this just an issue with making phone calls? What does it say when you try to make a cell call on the Watch?

Only works with phone nearby. It immediately says “call failed” when tapping contact.

Are you getting a specific error code?

I had trouble setting my new s7 up as well and had to call T-Mobile. They had to update my DIGITS plan to the “Apple Digits” plan or something. It’s the same price but apparently was updated for Apple Watches.

No error code, just quickly says “call failed”. Maybe tomorrow on a Monday their support will be better. Thanks.

TM had unpair and re-pair multiple times, removed cellular plan, re-added etc. and then referred me to Apple. Genius Bar is stumped and watch is on its way to Calif. for repair/replace.

Hello! Reaching out to see how your situation played out. I am experiencing the same issue. Looks like I may have to send in to Apple as well.

Sorry I forgot to update this. As far as I remember, it was something T-mobile wasn't doing. I looked back on my DMs with them on Twitter and they said after it was fixed "they have made some provisioning corrections on your watch line." 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the feedback! I believe that was the same issue for me because I still could not make a call with the replaced watch. After working another week with T-Mobile, they finally got it to working.

Now if I could just get it to open the Mac..was working until Ventura 13.4.1
