iPhone 11 Can’t get night mode to work on my iPhone 11?

So I recently got my new phone and I can’t seem to get night mode to work. When i turn off the lights I try to take photos using night mode but the photos still come out completely dark even though the camera is on its maximum time. No one seems to have these problems so I’m very confused as to why I’m having difficulties with this.

If it's totally dark then you won't have much luck. You need some light available for the sensor to pick up.
