hey i am new to this forum. my friend gave me his old ibook yesterday but he forgot to take his user names off. and me being a new mac owner i cannot log on. is there anything i can do. can i borrow one of ur guys' login names just to make a new name? any help would be greatly appreciated

Format the drive is one option and reinstall OS X

or if when you try to login it gives you a list of users and need to know a password then you can boot from the install DVD and reset the admin password

see the thing is that i dont even have the install cd because he just loaded up the laptop and a charger

well if i were TO get it fRom a REsource oNline Then could it work?

that would be highly ILLEGAL and will not help you with that sort of activity

Just buy Panther or Tiger, they aren't that expensive

so if i got the iso and burned it and put it in my laptop wouldnt it work?

well i did but i dont see y it wont work i read on other forums that it did

Just go away. Buy a legitimate copy of OS X (or get it from your friend who gave you the iBook), and you'll be fine. Otherwise, stop asking for help pirating software.

i actually bought that 130$ software now(better be worth it) how do i format?

put the disc in the drive, boot up the computer holding down the c key, which should get it to boot from the install disc. you should be able to format from there.
