Hi,
I've got a fairly urgent need for some help. I upgraded my main business computer to Mavericks last week after having used it on 3 personal computers since launch without issue. I run Windows 7 via Parallels and use Quickbooks Enterprise to basically run my business. Earlier today, the entire computer locked up on me. I force quit every program but still couldn't do anything with the Mac so I did a hard reset. I get back to the login screen with my 3 accounts (2 Admin and 1 guest) but I can't click or select any of the account to input my password. Switching mice and keyboards does not help. I have tried:
1. Booting into safe mode: it won't do it
2. Booting into single user mode
3. Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
4. Boot with CMD R to try and run disk utility. The option to run disk utility comes up but I can't select it with the mouse. I can "scroll" to it with the arrow keys clicking enter or the mouse does not select it. I can access terminal in the upper menu by using the right click key of a windows mouse. My mac mouse doesn't work.
5. Tried booting from a different hard drive with a Super Duper backup but it runs at a crawl with mainly error messages popping up. Interestingly, the enter key and mouse clicks DO work on this one screen.
6. Tried booting to a usb stick with the mavericks installer. Still can't click anything.
7. I have a time machine back up but don't know what I can do with that unless I replace the HD.
Computer is a 2010 iMac with a fairly new (< 6 months) fusion drive that I installed (new HD and SSD).
Any thoughts?
