Can't get texts from apps

Any apps that needs to send me a verification text (whatsapp, viber, banking, etc) I never receive.

I'm on a iphone 5s, latest ios. Obviously since its a new phone i havent played around with any settings.

Advice would be appreciated.

Go to Settings > Notifications and make sure that each of those apps has permission to send notifications.
