Can't get UPS settings working in Energy Saver

Hey everyone,

Just bought an APC battery backup for my ibook. I'm running OSX 10.4.9

Plugged in data cable to UPS and to USB on ibook. Energy Saver recognizes the UPS, but does not let me change the autoshutdown settings. All the check boxes are ghosted out. What to do? This is what i see:
