Can't get windows media player files to work in quicktime!(MBP)

First off, this is on a macbook pro.
I downloaded and installed the plug in microsoft recoomends for running wmv files in quicktime instead of using the windows media player 9( i thought this would be cleaner on the system). But when browsing videos online made for windows, its not working. Im using safari. how did u guys get it to work in your intel macs.

In short, just launch QT or Safari through Rosetta (through a checkbox in "Get Info" window of the application)
