Can't gift iPhone app

I am trying to gift an iPhone app to somebody, but the menu doesn't list "gift this app." It's strange because the "gift this" option shows up for music.

Why am I not able to do this?

I am trying through the windows version of iTunes.

Can't do it if you're on iOS 6. Are you doing in from within the phone or on a Mac?

Through Windows iTunes, since ios 6 doesn't let me, for whatever forsaken reason. Does apple want to sell more apps or not?

I wish I could help you on that. I don't use iTunes on windows though. It shows up on the mac side. I wonder if it's a glitch in your iTunes software?

There may be a work around that's not really efficient, but you may be able to send an electronic gift card that they can use. The reason I don't like it is because you only have choices of certain dollar amounts and not the ability to choose exactly how much you want it to be worth.
