help! I have an old iPhone 2G running 3.1.3 and I want to jailbreak it so I can run netflix via it to a TV.
I started with sn0wbreeze v 2.0.2 and made the ipsw image. Note that at the end of that process, sn0wbreeze wanted the phone put into DFU mode and I was unable to get it there.
I then switched to trying to just recover the phone via itunes and I chose the ipsw that sn0wbreeze had made. During the restore, it failed with a 1604 error.
So I ran iREB-r4, but because the phone won't go into DFU mode, no go.
So I then tried redsn0w 0.9.4 and it also eventually wanted DFU mode so it failed as well.
When I hold the power, then home button, during that 10 sec period, the screen does go black, then releasing the power button, but continuing to hold the home button for the 30 sec time period causes my XP computer to beep a couple of times, so USB must be recognizing the device. but then the phone ultimately just switches to the picture that all new phones show. the USB cable with an arrow pointing upwards to the iTunes logo.
redsn0w specifically said I had ended up in recovery mode, not DFU mode and itunes does agree that is where I ended up.
Note that the power button on this phone doesn't seem to work. i.e. I can hold it all day and never get the red power slide asking to power off.
I sure could use some help!! Thanks
