Can't hear caller unless I put it on speaker

I have an iphone4. Last night it started acting up. I can't hear the caller unless I put it on speaker phone. The caller can hear me though. Does this make sense? Anyone had this problem? My biggest issue is that the closest apple store is 6 hours from me.

I had the same issue, the screen protector was covering the speaker. If not, try a restore. After that, the only thing you can do is taker it into your apple store.

hey guys. bought wife an iphone and we have the same problem. so far tried the headphone trick which didnt work and the soft reset. hopefuly restore will solve it.

Hi, sometimes it is caused by reducing signal strength, you can try to remove your iphone case off.
