Can't hear the other person though my earpiece.

I got a call today and I couldn't hear the other person through my earpiece.
Worked fine on speaker.
Is there something wrong what should i do?

So its a software issue not a hardware issue?
I really need to know before I go 30 miles to my local apple store.

It just started happening today. It happened while I was in the car.
Then when I got to work I had someone call me they could hear me I couldn't hear them. i even have a few voicemails that I can't hear through the earpiece.
Only if its on speaker I can hear what they are saying.

It's a known issue that apple is working on.

Mine works from Day 1. I haven't heard or read this as a known issue.

Are you using the headset that came with the iPhone 4S?

Did it work before or is this the first time you are using it?

I also have to ask this but are you sure the headset is plugged in all the way?
