Can't hide windows?

What's up with Finder these days for me? Can't hide windows now for some strange reason.

You have never been able to hide individual windows in an application in Mac OS X. You CAN minimize them to the Dock or hide the entire application, though.

Nope, the problem fixed itself now. Thanks for your help though.

I get that a lot in firefox, when i quit and relaunch firefox it gets fixed

I'm not quite sure. Sometimes can't hide, sometimes can. :\

Super-late reply, but if you hide the finder (either manually or using a program like "Spirited Away"), then Firefox won't hide. If you show the finder (or put it on Spirited Away's exclusion list), then it comes back.
