Can't import into iTunes?

I want to import my current mp3 library from my Windoze machine, problem is.... iTunes won't import them.

I changed the preference is the main preference screen so it wont copy but import them. I even copied all the music from my PC to a folder on my iMac.

All the songs are greyed out and it wont let me select them through import, but I can copy them to my iTunes library. I want to import them so I can update the song titles and tracks and things from the internet database.

Any ideas?

Don't import them.
It'll only resample them... and degrade them even more.

It's like taking a JPG (also lossy) and resaving it again as a JPG.

The online (CD) database will only update the info from audio CDs anyway. It does this from reading info from the CD itself.

Is there a way to get the track names from the internet so dont have to type them in manually?

If the tracks were originally imported from a CD, you can highlight them in itunes and do 'get CD track names' from the Advanced menu. You don't have to have the CD in the machine.
