can't import phont's need help

I was away and didnt have my laptop, so I copied images from my digital camera to cd's, then, when I tried to import the photo's it gave me an error, then, when I tried to view a photo it said can't cache the image, then it finally opened it, whats wrong? please help, I CANT LOSE THESE PICTURES I took please help
