I have a 1st gen iPhone running the 2.01 software. Since the 2.01 update, and after the whole update temporarily forced my iPhone into restore mode for a while, I've had trouble importing photos into both Aperture and iPhoto. Below are screenshots of what I see when the phone is mounted.
I've tried to sync the phone first then open iPhoto and Aperture just in case. I can't figure out what the issue is. I'd like to forgo updating to 2.02 as I've found the risk does not outweigh the benefit.
