Can't import photos to Mac

Am I right in saying that with iCloud Photo Library turned on, you can't then sync your photos to iPhoto on the Mac?

My iPhone is showing up as a device in iPhoto, but when I click on it I just get a blank screen. It does say "Loading" but nothing ever happens.

I'll try disabling iCloud Photo Library and see what happens.

No, it doesn't stop you. Sounds like you have a different issue. Try restarting?
