Hi all,

I am running into a problem installing an app - Facebook Messenger - that I have never encountered before.

I downloaded the free app from the App Store, and then it would show the shaded icon on the home screen for installation as it always does for a brief time about 2 seconds, then it would completely disappear.

When I go back to the App Store to redownload the app, the cloud icon appears because I "bought" it already, and if I click the cloud icon to redownload, the same thing happens.

When I went on my iPad and clicked the cloud icon, I was able to install the app with no problems.

I'm running latest OS for iPhone 4 7.1.2, and it meets the requirements for the Facebook Messenger App.

I've tried restarting my iPhone a few times, and still it does not work. I don't want to restore my iphone, I think that will be last and final option. Also, I've tried downloading and installing new apps after this problem to maybe fix an app store glitch, and I am able to install other new apps, just not this Facebook Messenger one.

Try going to Settings > General > Usage and looking under Storage at all the apps that appear there, if Messenger shows up there, select it and then select to delete it, and after that try installing it from the App Store once again.

Thanks for being the first and only reply to my thread.
However, Messenger does not appear under Storage :(
