I'm running a non-jailbroken iPad 2. I just read that you don't need to have your UDID registered to install the Gold Master and I tracked one down, so after installing iTunes beta 9 I tried it. It extracts the software but at the point it tries to contact Apple's activation server it immediately stops and tells me it can't install. Anyone else running into this? Anything that can be done? A quick search shows that people are able to do this so I'm not sure what the problem might be...

I guess I needed to run it as a restore rather than an upgrade...seems to be working ok.
