Hello:

Here is my problem:

I lost the install dvd from my iMac core duo but I have the ones from my macbook pro. when i try to use them on my imac there is an error :mad: and I can;t install it.

the imac is for my office and now it;s not working, I need help fast

You have to use the discs specific to your machine to reinstall OSX. You won't be able to use the ones from the MBP.

A boxed copy of OSX won't work because they're all PPC-only at the moment.

Ring Apple, tell them you've lost the discs and they'll send you a new set - might take a while though. Unless you can find someone with Core Duo iMac restore discs it's your only option though.

talk dirty to the girl at the local apple store... worked for me when one was damaged in my laptop bag...lol..
